This policy explains how [Manaaki Art legal entity name] (“Manaaki Art”, “we”, “us”) handles your personal information, in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. By using manaakiart.org.nz you agree to this policy.

What we collect

• Account details — your name and email address. Passwords are stored only as secure hashes (we never see them).
• Order details — if you place an order, the shipping name, address and contact you provide. Manaaki Art is currently a demonstration store: checkout is simulated and we do not collect or store any payment-card details.
• Reviews and content you submit (your display name, rating and any text).
• Technical data — basic logs and cookies needed to run the site, keep you signed in, and keep your cart.

How we use it

To create and secure your account; to show the gallery and process (simulated) orders; to send essential emails such as email verification and password resets; to display reviews; to respond to your enquiries; and to keep the site safe and working.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your information. We use trusted service providers to operate the site: Cloudflare (hosting and database) and Resend (sending our emails). Where you buy a work, the artist (or their agent) receives the delivery details needed to fulfil your order and must use them only for that purpose. We may disclose information if required by law.

Cookies

We use only the cookies needed to run the site — to keep you signed in and to remember your cart. We don't use third-party advertising trackers.

Storage & retention

Your data is stored using our hosting provider's infrastructure and may be processed overseas. We keep it for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations.

Your rights

Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can ask to access or correct your personal information, or to delete your account. Email us and we'll help. You can also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (privacy.org.nz).
